Weave Your Own Rug with Rag Rugs By Karina

14 March @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

$195

Want to learn how to create your own rug out of upcycled textiles? Join Karina for a two-part workshop where you’ll learn how to prepare fabric for weaving, and weave your own rag rug on a loom!

This two-part workshop takes place over two Saturdays in March. In the first session, weavers learn how to prepare fabric strips, load the loom and weave your rug. The second session is spent finishing off the rug, unloading from loom and final touches. Participants will need to bring at least six or seven old bedsheets in desired colours for use in their rug, as well as a strong pair of scissors for cutting the fabric! The workshop includes your very own handcrafted, adjustable, solid pine loom, you can weave till your hearts content!  If you just want to weave one rug, loom rentals are available instead.

Karina will provide more information on what to expect from the workshop, what to bring, and how to register if you send her an email, ragrugsbykarina@gmail.com

Saturday March 14, 11am-2pm (first half)

Saturday March 28, 11am-2pm (second half)
