Welcome To

The Trainyard!

Community and kindness influence everything we do around here.

We’re Glad You’re Here!

A white peg board is shown, it is filled with tea towels, and baskets displaying reusable sponges, eco-cloths, fabric baskets and more. There are many vibrant colours filling the baskets. Against the right side of the photo a white shef is shown running against the window. The first section has a variety of books, lying flat -the second and third sections have a variety of ceramic mugs and tumblers. Some have hearts, other have cat faces, some are black or dark on the outside. The photo is bright and cheery.

What We’re About

We work with makers and small businesses to offer a wide selection of whimsical & practical handcrafted goods. Everything we carry was created by a Canadian business.

We are committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming space for our customers, makers & community at large and this includes working to be actively anti-racist.

Since opening in 2016, we have encouraged thoughtful shopping, through our selection of handcrafted goods, and taken steps to reduce our environmental impact as we grow.

We are taking steps to educate ourselves and to do better wherever we can. Above all, we believe community and business are one and the same.

We Love Our Community!

Community Building

Events, Giving & Friendship

Through Trainyard Connect we support our community partners Business Is Jammin’ and The MacPhee Centre for Creative Learning. We strive to support other organizations through special events whenever possible!

When possible we play host to community events including, Nocturne (Coming October 2021!), workshops & more.

Recently launched is our Community Action Team and we would love for you to join if you’re interested in getting involved!

We are also bringing back Maker Meet Ups for the first time in a few years, if you’re a maker head to our Makers page to learn more!

We collect donations of personal care items for The North Grove year round, and also have our own mini Little Free Library!

Mural is shown, "It is hard to understand the unabashed power of community, until you are a part of one. Thank you for making us a part of yours."
